News Events
News events are repeatable daily broadcasts viewed by interacting with the TV in the player's Home. One broadcast is selected for the day and remains active until the midnight refresh, which occurs after the moon event. As the story progresses, additional ordinary broadcasts enter the rotation. Seasonal events and festivals use their own dates or seasonal conditions.
The tables below show event locations, instructions, outcomes, rewards, and broadcast dialogue. Select an event name to open its individual article.

Broadcast
“Today, strange reports have been coming once again about buried treasure. Nobody knows exactly where this information comes from, but rumors have been buzzing around. As the story goes, someone hears from a ‘friend of a friend’ that digging in a certain place may lead to a surprise.”

The selected tip is one of:
- “In a secret room, where a red light glows.”
- “In a shabby closet, locked and forgotten.”
- “In a dark, abandoned place, where a person should stand.”

“Strange phone calls... we all get them, but how strange can they really get? Marketers, wrong numbers, prank calls... there are many ways to end up talking to a stranger on the phone. But... what about calling a stranger?”
“We have received reports of a strange phone number, which will connect you to an unusual voice. The number changes randomly over time, yet you will always get the same person on the other end. Depending on what number you dial, you may get a new message from this mysterious caller.”
The selected number is one of: 154-3380, 348-7652, 893-0006 or 284-7893.
“As usual, calling this number must be done at your own risk. Of course, finding a working phone can be a bit of a hassle these days. Elderfield is known for its terrible reception. I'm sure there is one hidden around, somewhere...”
Call the number shown in the broadcast, then follow its message:

“Today's story is another local urban legend feature. Whispers have been spreading around schoolyards and playgrounds about the "Silly Dog". As the rumors say, if you go to the Elderfield park between the hours of 8pm and midnight, and perform a certain ritual, you'll meet the "Silly Dog".”
“And what's this mysterious ritual? Well, it's quite simple, and we'll tell you how to do it! You simply walk up to the slide, place a single bone down, and then say a chant:”
“Repeat the words "Silly Dog" out loud 3 times, then say "Come out and play". The rumor claims that "Silly Dog" will emerge from the woods to play. So, how about you?”
“Will you be heading to the local park to place a bone and say the chant tonight?”
Place one Bones on the slide. Select “Silly Dog” three times, then “Come out and play.” This summons the Silly Dog for battle.
