Relationships

Relationships track the player’s friendship with nine characters. The system uses a ten-heart meter, daily and weekly gift limits, personal and universal gift preferences, friendship mail, shared school events and marriage.

Relationship meter

Relationship values are kept between 0 and 200. The display advances by half a heart every 10 points, so one full heart is 20 points and the maximum is 10 hearts.

The relationship tracker can be opened from the menu. Values below 0 are treated as 0, and values above 200 are capped at 200.

Talking and giving gifts

When speaking with a relationship character, the interaction menu provides Talk, Gift and Cancel choices unless a story or task conversation takes priority.

• The player may give each character one gift per day and two gifts per week. These limits are tracked separately for every character.
• A character’s personal preferences are checked before the universal lists. A personal entry therefore overrides a universal reaction.
• The first time a particular gift is discovered for a character gives a slightly different relationship change from later copies of that gift. The discovery is then recorded in the relationship tracker.
• Personal gifts change the meter by 11 points for a newly discovered loved gift and 8 afterward; 8 then 6 for liked; 5 then 4 for neutral; and −11 for hated.
• Universal liked gifts change the meter by 7 points when first discovered and 5 afterward. Universal neutral gifts give 4 then 3. An item that reaches the universal fallback is disliked and removes 7 then 6.
• A Love Potion is a special universal loved gift worth 12 points. Personal preference checks still take priority.

Personal preferences override both lists below. An item listed in both universal files is treated as universally liked.

Friendship mail and rewards

At 3, 5 and 8 hearts, the mail system selects one item from that character’s three-item pool. Each threshold mail is sent once. The table lists item links only; equipment and consumable statistics remain on their own item pages.

Shared school events

The four-heart events are shared by three groups. Each group awards its item once, and the member with the highest relationship in that group presents it.

The events take place in School. Only three shared rewards exist; the same group reward is not granted separately for all three members.

Marriage

A character becomes eligible at 10 hearts. If the player is not already married, give that character a Ring of Binding to begin the marriage sequence. Weddings take place in the Church. After marriage, spouse-specific home conversations and gifts are documented on the spouse’s character page.
