Bugs

Every bug you can catch, how often it turns up, and where to find one.
Bugs sit still and wait. You need Bug Catching Net in your bag to take one, and swinging at one without it does nothing. There are 261 spawn points in the world and each one rolls once a day, with a 7% chance of a bug being there that morning. Catching one is worth 10 EXP towards Foraging.

What there is to catch

Bug Chance per catch Grades
Dragonfly 50% no quality grades
Pale Empress Moth 4% 4 quality grades
Bloodwing Moth 4.5% 4 quality grades
Shadewing Moth 5% 4 quality grades
Dustfly 6% 4 quality grades
Nightcrawler 8% 4 quality grades
Green Caterpillar 12.5% 4 quality grades
Ladybug 10% 4 quality grades

Quality

Every bug but the Dragonfly comes in four grades. The chance of a graded catch starts at 15% and your Foraging level is added to it, with another 5 points on a very lucky day. A second roll then decides which grade.

While the Bug Catching quest is open

Hans wants a Pale Empress Moth, and the game will not let you hunt one forever: while Bug Catching is active a counter goes up with every catch, and on the 35th it resets and hands you one.
