The machines that turn one thing into another while you wait.
Processing is not crafting. There is no recipe, nothing to learn and no skill check: you put an item in, the clock runs, and you collect the product. Some machines count in-game minutes, others count days.
| Machine | Conversions | Measured in | Needs fuel | Needs energy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Preserving Barrel | 27 | Days | No | No |
| Cask | 24 | Days | No | No |
| Keg | 16 | Days | No | No |
| Slicer | 12 | In-game minutes | No | 100–200 |
| Drying Rack | 11 | Days | No | No |
| Furnace | 9 | In-game minutes | Yes | No |
| Blast Kiln | 7 | In-game minutes | Yes | 50–300 |
| Grinder | 6 | In-game minutes | Yes | No |
| Windmill | 6 | In-game minutes | No | No |
| Food Processor | 3 | In-game minutes | No | No |
| Feed Maker | 2 | In-game minutes | No | No |
Processing reference
Energy
The Slicer and the Blast Kiln will not run unless the farm is already producing enough Energy. It is a requirement rather than a fuel: nothing in the game spends it, so a farm that reaches the level runs those machines as often as it likes. What reaches the level is what you have built:
| Built from | Energy | Lasts | Cost | In stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Generator | 50 | One day, per Battery | crafted | |
| Contract: Water Wheel | 50 | Until you pick it up | 1 | |
| Contract: Wind Turbine | 50 | Until you pick it up | Unlimited |
A Lightning Rod produces 1 Battery after every storm, which the game counts in its own "Storm Counter". That rate, not the price of a Generator, is what limits how much power the burned kind can give you.
