Mall Outside — Follow-up

When: Erik’s encounter has no confirmed normal-play unlock; this is his introductory conversation.

  • “Hey, I'm Erik.”
  • “I'm somewhat of a fortune teller, you know.”
  • “Luck plays a big role in our lives, but it isn't all random.”
  • “If you have enough luck, you can become Lucky, or even Very Lucky.”
  • “But, it goes both ways. If your luck is too low, you can become Unlucky, or Very Unlucky.”
  • “It can be hard to tell how much luck you need, since it changes as you grow.”
  • “Don't worry though, I can tell you exactly what you need just by reading your fortune.”
  • “Your luck can affect many things in life, from finding loot, to fishing, to talking to people.”
  • “Some special things can only happen if you're lucky enough, and some very bad things might only happen if you're particularly unlucky.”
  • “So, how about it? Which luck requirements would you like to know?”

  • “Well...”
  • “The luck you need to be Lucky, Very Lucky, etc. is based on your base luck stat.”
  • “Your base Luck is always your current level +10. So, at level 43, your base luck is 53.”
  • “The luck you need to be lucky is 25% above your base luck, and to be Very Lucky, you need to be 50% above your base luck.”
  • “The same is true for Unlucky and Very unlucky, but 25% and 50% below your base, respectively.”
  • “Keep in mind that your base luck is not affected by permanent stat increases, like drinking from a Flask of the Gods (Luck).”
  • “This means that permanent stat increases (or decreases) will get you closer to being Lucky or Unlucky just like anything else..”
  • “So, for instance, if you are level 90, your base luck is always 100 (90+10). To be Lucky, you need +25 luck from bonuses, to be Very Lucky, you need +50 Luck, and the opposite is true for Unlucky and Very unlucky.”
  • “That about sums it up. Of course, of you don't want to do the math, come talk to me.”
