The gems that can be spent to upgrade a piece of gear, grouped by the item levels they work on.
The tier words are not a ladder. Chipped and Lesser gems both work on item levels 0-5, Greater reaches 0-10, and nothing in the game converts one gem into another, so the table is grouped by band and says which slots each gem fits.
Usage

Weapon lists the gems whose Upgrade Material line names a weapon;
anything else lists the gems that go into worn equipment. A gem naming both appears in both.
