“Only the chosen may read the bones.”
“Death... our shared lineage.”
“To you, we shall all return, almighty Kaal.”
“In death, we become one.”
“Are we dead...?”
“Would we know...?”
“Kaal... I am here...”
“Bones ground to dust.”
“Dust shaped to bones.”
“Say, did you know?”
“Our great Kaal once had a treasured pet.”
“The pet saw Kaal's indifference toward the dead, and became saddened by it.”
“As the lives of mortals come to an end, the souls of the deeply troubled become lost.”
“Kaal did little to help these lost souls, left to wander their final resting places forever.”
“Kaal's dear pet felt for these lost souls, and wished to help them.”
“So, the pet abandoned Kaal, and now guides wandering souls to the afterlife, one by one.”
“Kaal, who never thought once of the lost souls, now longs for the only companion they ever knew.”
